Technical Name:Â Propaquizafop 10% EC.
Use in Crops: Black gram, Soyabean.
- Mode of Action
-
Society is a member of the Aryloxyphenoxypropionates (Fop) group of herbicides and systematically gets translocated to plant meristems. Society gets absorbed by the foliage within 1 hour of spraying and inhibits fatty acid synthesis (ACCease). Thus, destroying the plant’s vital function causes chlorosis in young tissues; the youngest leaf will show yellowing first. Drying could be observed within 3 – 4 days of spraying, and ultimately, the collapse of the entire plant (14 – 21 days).
2. Special Features
High content of surfactant – Under normal conditions, there is no need for external surfactant addition.
Wide spectrum use – Provides an excellent control of a broad range of annual and perennial grasses. Unique activity against perennial weeds, e.g., Sorghum spp. and Cynodon spp.
Rain fastness – One hour rain fastness and enhanced activity on target weeds.
Low application rate – Relatively lower application rate per hectare compared to the other molecules in the same segment.
No risk to the succeeding crop – Unlike many other herbicides, Society is safe to the succeeding crop in the next season. No carryover risk to the next crop.
Safe to the Environment – Low leaching, low solubility of active ingredient in water, and rapid degradability in soil. No residues left
3. Time of Application
It is recommended for post-emergent use at the 2- to 3-leaf stage of weed growth.
-
Compatibility
It is advisable to conduct a physical compatibility test before use in combination with other molecules.
-
Phytotoxicity
No Phytotoxicity observed if used as recommended.
